"updating the website from work"

However, some methods for improving traffic work no matter what niche you’re in and no matter what you like to do. Write Articles
The first great way to improve traffic to your website is to write articles. Articles are completely free to post online and they can be very effective.

You need to write articles that provide value to readers and are easy to read. With each article you want to target popular keywords so that the articles are found when people search for the keywords.

Improve Your Article Marketing

Article marketing works! Submitting articles to article directories will get you traffic and it will get your pages back-links to give you some Google juice.

On the downside, it is a time-consuming and often monotonous undertaking.

Assuming you are doing some pre-writing keyword research, and the content of your article is good, one of the key factors in getting high readership lies in your title.

The stronger your title, the more people you will have click to read. Each article you write should target a specific keyword phrase.

Of course that keyword phrase should appear in your title, but not just in the title–in the beginning of it. Consider the two following examples:

* Get Healthy With Organic Gardening

* Organic Gardening: 3 Ways It Can Make You Healthier

The second headline puts the keywords right up front which may be helpful for SEO purposes. It also lets the reader know immediately what the main topic is.

So look at your titles. Are they powerful? Do they target your niche readers? And–are your keywords at the front of your subject line? Those things will help.

I’ll be sharing ways to make your article marketing easier and more profitable in future posts but for now you may want to check out the tool that I use to submit my articles to hundreds of directories.

An Article Marketing Template

I was talking to a friend of mine recently about article marketing. He said his main battle plan in his articles was to break them down into three key components.

* tell them what you’re going to tell them

* tell them what you promised

* tell them what you told them

That’s pretty simple stuff isn’t it?

I think that’s true, but I’m going to give you a little template here for how to lay out your article with a little more structure.

HEADLINE:
Make sure you use your keywords

OPENING:
Explain a problem and your experience with it.

MIDDLE 4 PARAGRAPHS:
Explain your solution to the problem.

LAST PARAGRAPH:
Create a desire for more knowledge.

RESOURCE BOX:
A strong but short call to action. Make them want more info and indicate they can get it by clicking your link.
