I was doing a little product research the other day and I realized something that, while I already suspected this, hit me square on.
I did a standard Google search for the exact name of a top-selling Clickbank product. Of the first ten results shown, nine were pre-sell pages: self-hosted WordPress blogs–the other was the product vendor’s sales page.
Sure, you can use HubPages, Squidoo or Blogger pages to promote products–but WordPress blogs have become the de facto workhorse for pre-sell and review pages.
I’m talking about people who host WordPress blogs on their own private domain through wordpress.org.
Consider the advantages of WordPress blogs over traditional .com type site.
–free to use WordPress platform
–blogs tend to get indexed fast
–blogs can show well in the SERPs
–tons of free widgets to enhance a WordPress blogs functionality
–self hosted blogs are not subject to being locked as happens often with platforms like Squidoo or Blogger
You can do your own research, but I’m sure you’ll find similar results. It’s a free marketplace of ideas out there and the majority of affiliates are choosing WordPress blogs upon which to build their pre-sell and review pages.
There are good reasons for this!
